Before you start playing, be sure your computer has an activated security suite: a firewall, antispyware software, and anti-virus software. Use a strong password for your gaming accounts. Be sure your password has at least eight characters and uses numbers, letters, and symbols. If another player is making you feel uncomfortable, tell a trusted adult. Remember that you can always kick a player out of the game if they are making you uncomfortable. Learn how to block and/or report another player if they are making you uncomfortable. Keep a record of what the other player said, but do not engage them.
Everyone can benefit from regular exercise. Kids who are active will have stronger muscles and bones, have a leaner body because exercise helps control body fat, be less likely to become overweight, decrease the risk of developing type two diabetes, lower blood pressure and blood cholesterol levels, and have a better outlook on life.
Energy Award Announcement
Southwest Public Service (SRP) recognized Littleton ESD for our innovative effort to conserve energy. Champion of Energy Efficiency Awards recognizes SRP business customers who demonstrated outstanding initiative in energy efficiency. SRP recognized the 2017 award recipients at their 4th Annual Champions of Energy Efficiency Awards Luncheon. SRP based the nominations on gross annual energy savings through participation in SRP's commercial rebate programs last year. The company chose its winners based on their outstanding efforts to implement new technologies, institute behavioral change, and support ongoing initiatives for energy efficiency within their organizations.
Here at Littleton Elementary School District, we control all of the air conditioning and heating to operate only when the spaces are occupied. We control over 90% of the lighting district wide with occupancy sensors of time clocks, all hot water heaters have time clocks, and we have exhaust fans in restrooms with motion sensors. We have changed over 90% of all exterior lighting to LED light fixtures, and we control the light fixtures with photo sensors and/or time clocks. In August of 2016, SRP and Littleton Elementary School District worked together at two of our school sites with the School of Energy Program with great success. We have also started recycling programs at several of our schools to cut back on the amount of trash that goes in our landfills.

Safety Tips for School Crossings
Please review these safety tips for school crossings and school zones.
Be on the lookout for school zone signals and always obey the speed limits. When entering a school zone, be sure to slow down and obey all traffic laws. Always stop for school buses that are loading or unloading children. Watch out for school crossing guards and obey their signals. Be aware of and watch out for children near schools, bus stops, sidewalks, in the streets, and in school parking lots. Thank you for helping to keep our students safe!
School Bell Changes
To serve the efficient and safe transport needs of our bus riders better, the Littleton Governing Board made slight adjustments to the bell schedules. These changes will go into effect on Tuesday, September 27. Please take a few moments to read the informational letter outlining the changes.
